Introduction:

I am a native of New Mexico, growing up in Albuquerque. My association with the HVAC industry started when I was hired by Anderson Air Corps at age 18. I was hired to work full time cleaning up the yard but within six weeks was asked to accompany installers on jobs. In six months I was assigned my own truck and was installing residential smaller jobs as a lead man. Later, I was allowed to work under more experienced journeymen on commercial jobs. I attended numerous training courses at TVI and obtained a journeyman sheetmetal and gas fitters license. I also took welding classes and became a certified welder. Other certifications include EPA refrigerant and NATE certifications. I took over general supervision of the contracting department in 2004.

Position / Title / Responsibilities:

As Contracting Department Manager, recruit, train and supervise up to 18 installers doing both residential and commercial installations. I review each job by making a site visit and introducing myself to the customer and/or contractor. I generate material lists and shop fabrication lists and schedule the work. My day is filled with coordinating the needs and concerns of our customers, supervising installation crews and the various inspections necessary. I act as a field project manager on larger commercial projects also and follow up with quality control.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I enjoy working with people. Our customers are always interesting and I enjoy the challenge of helping them achieve their goals as related to our work. Also our industry is full of challenges from the new breed of high efficiency equipment to new code issues that are constantly changing and improving. Motivating installers and keeping them focused on quality through constant training and advancement is challenging also. But most of all, I enjoy the satisfaction of meeting a challenging installation head on and devising a plan to do a great job that results with a happy customer.

Mantra:

“Quality Comfort and Value.” Earning trust one job at a time, every time.
